We are an organization dedicated to promoting Family and Consumer Sciences in Virginia public schools to improve the lives of our students, their families, and our communities.

Our mission is to…

  • Collaborate with Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) to provide professional development opportunities for our members and all FACS teachers in Virginia.
  • Provide opportunity for an exchange of ideas and materials as well as a sharing of experience and expectations for FACS teachers in Virginia.
  • Support the purposes of the Virginia Association of Career and Technical Education.

Members of VATFACS benefit in their profession through:

  • Professional Development Institute at our summer conference
  • Recognition through Awards Scholarships for teachers and students
  • VACTE membership provides CTE representation in legislative matters
